Welcome to Schouwen-Duiveland

Brouwershaven, locally called Brouw, is located in the north of our beautiful island, directly at lake Grevelingen (Grevelingenmeer). At the marina of Brouwershaven, water sports fans of all ages meet, especially in summer.

The mussel village of Bruinisse is nationally known and praised for its mussel farming and fishing. Both have traditionally been important sources of income. You can still see te relics in the harbour with its many mussel boats. For the freshest mussels in the country, you need to be in Bruinisse.

Burgh-Haamstede is a beautiful seaside resort by the North Sea with wide beaches and clean bathing water. Closeby you can find the nature reserve Kop van Schouwen, a paradise for nature and sports enthusiasts. In and around Burgh-Haamstede you will also find many relics from times gone by.

Dreischor is one of the best preserved old ring villages on Schouwen-Duiveland. Stroll through the narrow streets of this cozy village and admire the old houses with their beautiful facades and typical stepped gables. The oldest houses are arranged in a circle around the church and the cemetery. The village center of Dreischor is protected as a historic monument.

Located at the Dutch North Sea, Renesse is a real seaside resort. What could be better than a long walk along the beach? If you want to experience Renesse actively, visit outside the high season and bring your bike. From Renesse, countless bicycle routes lead you across the island, for example through the Vroongronden or to Moermond Castle.

The largest city of Schouwen-Duiveland is full of beautiful monumental buildings. Stroll through streets and alleys with old cobblestones, historic drawbridges and restored boats. You'll marvel at the beautiful facades of the old houses with their typical, richly decorated stepped gables.
