Slot Haamstede
Discover Slot Haamstede: an old castle with a moat, surrounded by a castle forest and adjacent dune area. The oldest part of the castle dates back to the 13th century and there are even traces of Romans and Vikings to be found. The castle was rebuilt after a devastating fire and inside you feel like you've stepped back in time. Around the castle, you'll find the old castle wall and the castle forest with majestic summer oaks. In the adjacent Zeepeduinen, you can wander through diverse dune landscapes and spot birds, including the nightingale and the woodlark. You may also encounter fallow deer, roe deer, and Shetland ponies here.
