Molen Windlust Brouwershaven
Welcome to Molen Windlust Brouwershaven! This grain mill is located at Slingerbos near the harbor and is a true sight to behold. With its height of 10 meters, it is not a scale model but a working mill that is still in use. The mill's white brim is adorned with black letters that show the name "WINDLUST 1935". The grain mill was originally built by J. van de Hamer in 1935 to demonstrate his inventions to his customers.
During World War II, Molen Windlust was used to generate electricity. The owner could listen to the radio and use electric lighting. In 1955, the mill was moved to its current location on the embankment along a bike path near the harbor. Unfortunately, the mill was blown over during a storm in 1990, but thanks to a restoration project by the municipality, it is now beautifully restored.
