Trio Mediæval is an ensemble founded in 1997 by Anna Maria Friman and Linn Andrea Fuglseth. In 2018, Jorunn Lovise Husan joined.

The trio, as the name suggests, specializes in performing songs from the Middle Ages. These songs may or may not be arranged to be sung by this company. In addition, they also give performances and premieres of work by contemporary composers.

In 2001 their first album was released and it was an immediate success, especially in the United States. Their subsequent albums were also a great success there.

Among them are compositions that have been written especially for them, such as the film track 'Just' (After song of songs) by the world-renowned David Lang for the film 'Youth – La Giovinezza' by the Italian filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino (including 'La Grande Bellezza', an ode to Fellini's La dolce vita).

The album Rímur (ECM 2017) with guest musician Arve Henriksen was nominated for a Grammy.

They have now conquered the rest of the world with their magical voices and are welcome guests at many renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall New York, Wigmore Hall London, Oslo Konserthus, TivoliVredenburg Utrecht and Amare The Hague.
