Trio Mediæval

The world-famous Trio Mediæval is coming to the Church of Burgh for an exclusive, unique, and intimate concert.

Trio Mediæval is an ensemble founded in 1997 by Anna Maria Friman and Linn Andrea Fuglseth. In 2018, Jorunn Lovise Husan joined the group.

As the name suggests, the trio specializes in performing songs from the Middle Ages, which are sometimes arranged to suit their vocal style. In addition, they also perform and premiere works by contemporary composers, including the world-renowned David Lang, with some compositions written specifically for them.

Their debut album, released in 2001, was an immediate success, particularly in the United States. Their subsequent albums also achieved great success there.

The album Rímur (ECM 2017), featuring guest musician Arve Henriksen, was nominated for a Grammy.

With their magical voices, they have since conquered the rest of the world.
