Brouwersdam
Be a translator and translate this text to English. The Brouwersdam, part of the famous Delta Works, is the seventh dam that was built. The construction of the Brouwersdam created the largest saltwater lake in Western Europe: the Grevelingenmeer. Construction of the 6-kilometer-long dam began in 1962. Caissons with holes were used to allow tides to pass during construction. The Brouwershavense Gat received special attention and was closed using a cableway and large blocks of concrete and sand. After construction, the gaps were closed with sluices.
Today, the Brouwersdam is a popular spot for recreation and relaxation, with beautiful beaches and beach pavilions on the North Sea side. It is an ideal location for spotting seals and practicing various water sports, including kiteboarding and windsurfing. The "Concert at Sea" event also takes place here annually.
Visit the Brouwersdam and experience Schouwen-Duiveland from the water.
