Galerie Het Oude Raadhuis

You're probably familiar with Gallery Het Oude Raadhuis because of the cheerful stainless steel sculptures displayed outside during opening hours. But there's much more to see and buy at Joop and Willie's place. Willie says, 'We started the gallery in 2003 where we exhibited paintings and sculptures. About five years later, we changed direction and began selling unique gift items. Mainly art-related things that are affordable and accessible to a wide audience. We're always on the lookout for distinctive items to bring in, so our customers can find something unique.' At Het Oude Raadhuis, you'll find glass art from Venice, Poland, and Sweden, among other things. But also special jewelry, watches, and clocks. Joop adds, 'In addition, I create bronze sculptures myself, and I do that on a regular basis on commission.' Joop also created the bronze sculpture of the 'Witte van Haemstede' on the square across from the flower shop. Craving a nice cup of coffee or cappuccino? Joop can even take care of that. As a skilled barista, he serves them at his gallery counter.
