Graansilo Zierikzee
A striking building in Zierikzee is the grain silo dating back to the year 1955. Despite objections from both the Provincial Zeeland Beauty Commission and the Heemschut Association, the Zierikzee City Council gave the green light for its construction on November 25, 1954. The height of the building (47.10 meters) was considered too high and there was fear that it would permanently disrupt the contour of the city.
