Landgoed Slot Haamstede
Visit the beautiful nature of Estate Slot Haamstede. This nature reserve has everything: a castle with a moat, an old castle forest, and an adjacent dune area with viewpoints and bird watching spots. The castle takes you back in time with a charming knight's hall, tile floor, furniture, and a coat of arms above the fireplace.
The Slotbos consists of old deciduous trees and majestic summer oaks. It is surrounded by the old castle wall, on which early crocus, candlestick, wall snapdragon, and wall fern bloom. In the adjacent Zeepeduinen, you can enjoy a varied dune area with open sand, dune valleys, dune lakes, bushes, shrubs, and birds, including the nightingale and woodlark. You can also encounter large animals such as fallow deer, roe deer, and Shetland ponies, while the bunkers from World War II are a unique historical feature.
