Plompe Toren
The Plompe Toren offers a unique experience with breathtaking views and a fascinating story. Inside the tower, you’ll discover the legend of the drowned mermaid. According to the tale, the village of Westenschouwen sank into the sea as revenge by a merman whose wife was captured by fishermen.
At the top of the tower, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the Zeeland landscape and the sea. With some luck, you may even spot seals along the coast.
Entry to the Plompe Toren is free, but please note that the tower is not suitable for those with limited mobility. A visit to the Plompe Toren combines nature, culture, and a touch of mystique. Don’t miss it!
