Along the way, you will encounter various lookout towers, such as the Plompe Toren (23 meters). This monument is a remnant of the submerged village of Koudekerke, and during the climb to the top, the story of the drowned village is told.
Due to the construction of the Delta Works, a lot of tidal areas outside the dikes have been lost. Therefore, extensive work is being done on nature restoration under the name "Plan Tureluur." The result is the Prunjepolder, a salt area full of water and meadow birds.
