You cycle over old dikes, along forgotten agricultural ports, and saltwater nature reserves. The water of theOosterschelde is never far away. Along the way, you will encounter various lookout towers, such as the Plompe Toren (23 meters). This monument is a remnant of the submerged village of Koudekerke, and during the climb to the top, the story of the drowned village is told.
Due to the construction of the Delta Works, a lot of tidal areas outside the dikes have been lost. Therefore, extensive work is being done on nature restoration under the name "Plan Tureluur." The result is the Prunjepolder, a salt area full of water and meadow birds.
