Monumentaal Fietsen
A bike route (59 km) along historic monuments on Schouwen-Duiveland. The connection with the open sea has brought a lot of prosperity to this area in the past.
With more than 500 national monuments, Zierikzee has a lot to offer. In the old city harbor, large merchant ships used to dock. But due to the silting up of the Gouwe, the tide turned. As a result, the construction of the Dikke Toren stalled at 62 meters.
The route also takes you along the monuments of Brouwershaven, Renesse, and Haamstede. In between, you cycle through dunes, forests, and vast natural areas.
